Red is my thing. In my hair, on my nails, on my lips. Bold, fierce, elegant. It took me a while to start wearing it on my lips but once I’ve started I just couldn’t stop and a few years later I own a lipstick in almost every shade of red. Even if a bright, daring fire red is a must have for me I also love dark red, almost purple, lipsticks. I think they complement my lip color and my complexion better while also looking sophisticated and trendy (especially on this fall/winter).
The last addition to my big collection is a 2in1 Lipstick and Liner by Essence in 05, “Lush Berry”. It’s a really comfortable, and easy to apply, dark red with a hint of purple. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and since then I’ve worn it almost every day. I’ll probably give a try to something even more darker on my lips but for now I do love the way this trendy shade looks on me.
And now… “Off with their heads!”
Il rosso é il mio colore: tra i capelli, sulle unghie, sulle labbra. Audace, ma elegante, di sicuro non passa inosservato. Io ci ho messo un po’ a trovare la sfrontatezza necessaria per indossarlo, ma da quando ho iniziato sono stata semplicemente incapace di smettere e ad oggi ho perso il conto dei rossetti rossi che possiedo, ognuno di una diversa sfumatura. Per quanto l’intramontabile audacia del rosso fuoco sia, per me, irrinunciabile ci sono anche molti rossi scuri, intensi e sensuali, nella mia ampia collezione. Penso che si abbinino meglio al colore dei capelli ed alla mia carnagione, con un risultato sofisticato e molto alla moda (soprattutto per questo autunno/inverno).
Il mio ultimo acquisto é un rossetto/matitone 2in1 di Essence, nella tonalità 05, “Lush Berry”. Un rosso scuro, con una punta di viola, estremamente confortevole sulle labbra e facile da applicare (grazie alla forma), che non secca e ha una buona durata. Da quando l’ho comprato, un paio di settimane fa, l’ho indossato quasi ogni giorno ed anche se ovviamente ci saranno altri rossetti rossi, mi piacerebbe provare una tonalità ancora più scura, per adesso adoro questo colore trendy e portabile.
Ed ora… “tagliategli la testa!”
These last days have been terrifying and it has nothing to do with Halloween so I’m definitely not in the mood to celebrate anything but since before all this madness began I had found the perfect nailpolish to match every costume and mood. I’m talking about this dark blue with a purple hint, a glamorous alternative to the classic black, with a beautiful gelly finish. ‘Cause you can be scary and trendy at the same time!

Gli ultimi giorni sono stati terrificanti, per motivi che con Halloween non c’entrano affatto, quindi al momento non ho più alcuna voglia di festeggiare, ma prima che la vera paura dilagasse avevo trovato uno smalto stupendo, perfetto per ogni costume, travestimento e stile. Parlo di un blu scuro, intenso, che vira leggermente al viola, con un finish ultra brillante: una splendida alternativa al classico nero ed una tonalità sicuramente molto di moda questo autunno/inverno. Perché va bene essere spaventose, ma senza rinunciare ad un tocco trendy!

Yes, I know. I bought another MAC lipstick. And yes, I know. This thing is getting serious. But in my defense this new line, Liptensity, launched the same day I happened to walk in front of a MAC corner. And it happens to be fabulous!
MAC lipsticks are already known worldwide for their high pigmentation, but the ones in this line go even further in intensity (once again the name says it all). I picked Ambrosial, a magenta with cool undertones, because I was looking for a purple-ish fucsia and even if on my lips it looks lighter than in the box I’m still satisfied with it. Apart from the stunning pigmentation what impressed me was the super comfortable formula: I can wear this lipstick for hours without feeling my lips dry (and they are usually very dry!). Like many other MAC lipsticks it lasts really long and, even better, when it fades it leaves the lips tinted: something I do love about lipsticks!
I would describe these lipsticks as a better and improved version of the MAC greatness in lipsticks that we got used to. The shades are really gorgeous (I can’t stop thinking about a really dark red with lots of brown in it that I’ve tried on yesterday) not to say bold and unique (I’m talking about dark blue, grey and black).
I’ll show you better pics of ny new purchase in the next days, for now I just want to share how I welcomed this new gem from MAC!
Lo so, ho comprato un altro rossetto MAC nel giro di pochi giorni. E sí, lo so, la questione inizia a farsi seria. In mia difesa, però, posso dire MAC ha lanciato questa nuova linea proprio lo stesso giorno (ieri) in cui mi sono ritrovata a passare davanti ad un negozio del tutto casualmente. É non é di sicuro colpa mia se la collezione é assolutamente favolosa!
I rossetti MAC sono già famosi per la pigmentazione, ma questi della linea Liptensity raggiungono un livello di intensità ancora maggiore, come promesso dallo stesso nome. Io ho scelto Ambrosial, un magenta freddo, perché cercavo un fucsia con una punta di viola ed anche se sulle mie labbra risulta leggermente più chiaro di quanto volessi, é comunque molto bello. Oltre alla pigmentazione incredibile quello che mi ha colpito é stata la formula morbida e davvero confortevole: posso indossare questo rossetto per ore senza sentire le labbra tirare, nonostante le mie siano secche e, quindi, “problematiche”. Come molti altri prodotti MAC questi rossetti sono a lunga durata, il mio non scompare del tutto neanche dopo aver mangiato e, soprattutto, tinge le labbra, una caratteristica che adoro.
Se dovessi descrivere brevemente la Liptensity direi che é una versione ulteriormente migliorata dei già fantastici rossetti MAC. Pigmentazione, durata, morbidezza e, non meno importanti, una gamma di colori veramente notevole. Io, per esempio, non riesco a smettere di pensare ad un rosso scuro molto intenso che nello stick sembrava un marrone scuro, ma indossato rivelava un rosso magnetico che, tra l’altro, sarà di gran moda nei prossimi mesi. Fanno parte della linea anche tonalità insolite ed uniche come il blu scuro, il grigio antracite ed il nero.
Nei prossimi giorni vi mostrerò delle foto di migliore qualità, e sopratutto il rossetto indossato, ma intanto ero troppo impaziente di mostrarvi quello che considero il mio benvenuto ad una nuova, fantastica proposta MAC.
After a dark red and a classy nude I really needed something pink in my “Super Gel” collection. So I went for a bright fucsia that looks a bit more reddish in pictures than in reality. Just like for the other nailpolishes from this collection I do love the formula, beautiful after only one coat, and the finish, super glossy.
Now that I’ve tried on all the shades that I’d bought in the past month I guess I should go back to something else but more likely I’ll buy another shade from this gorgeous collections. I’ll let you know (and see)!
Nailpolish: “Super Gel” by Rimmel in 024 “Red Ginger”
Dopo un rosso scuro molto trendy ed un nude sofisticato ho pensato che la mia collezione di smalti “Super Gel” necessitasse di un tocco di rosa, così ho optato per un fucsia brillante che in foto risulta più rosso di quanto non sia in realtà. Proprio come per gli altri la formula é stupende, coprente dopo una sola passata, ed il finish lucido e glossato.
Ora aver provato tutti gli smalti che avevo comprato nelle scorse settimane ora dovrei teoricamente cambiare, ma ho paura che alla fine opterò per un altro acquisto: qualche altra splendida tonalità della linea “Super Gel”.
Smalto: Rimmel “Super Gel” n. 024 “Red Ginger”
Some days ago I finally bought my first Mac lipstick. Before this purchase I was already sure that after trying one of those legendary lipsticks on my lips I would have never been able to wear something else. And I was right.
To start this love story I wanted a shade I could wear every day, something that would emphasize the natural colour of my lips without being too plain (I heard they call them MLBB lipsticks: My Lips But Better). I do love the colour of my lips, a cherry red with a hint of purple, but sometimes it’s hard to find a natural, almost naked, shade that’s not too pale on them and that’s why I picked my first Mac lipstick very carefully.
After trying on some different, and beautiful, shades I went for “Amorous”, a mauve with a satin finish (I’m not a fan of matte lipsticks on my dry lips). The colour is a bit more intense than I expected but it’s still really wearable and versatile. On my lips it looks like a trendy purple, not too far from the shade I was looking for in the beginning and, more important, it feels like you’re wearing no lipstick at all. Seriously, I’ve never tried something so comfortable on my lips. The smooth texture and intense, glamorous shade are to die for, or to fall in love with! I mean, love it’s even in the name of this gorgeous lipstick!
P.S. I knew it would have been the beginning of a new era. And that’s why the day after my first purchase I bought another lipstick, “Spirit” and I’m already thinking of the next one. Oh, love! It can be so overwhelming!
Alcuni giorni fa ho finalmente comprato il mio primo rossetto Mac. Rimandavo da un po’ perché sapevo che dal momento in cui fossi entrata nel fantastico mondo Mac non sarei più riuscita ad indossare altri rossetti. E adesso posso dire che avevo ragione.
Per iniziare volevo un colore per tutti i giorni, e per diversi makeup, una tonalità che enfatizzasse le mie labbra senza discostarsi troppo dal loro colore naturale. Ho le labbra di un ciliegia freddo, e non me ne lamento, ma a volte trovare un rossetto nude che non sembri troppo chiaro può essere difficile. Per questo ho scelto con molta attenzione.
Dopo aver provato varie tonalità, tutte stupende, ho infine optato per “Amorous”, un malva dal finish brillante (le mie labbra si seccano facilmente quindi non compro quasi mai rossetti matte). Il colore é leggermente più intenso di quanto mi aspettassi, ma resta comunque elegante, portabile e versatile. Su di me assume dei riflessi freddi, sul viola, che adoro e che comunque non si allontanano troppo da quello che considero un nude. Inoltre é come non indossare assolutamente nulla sulle labbra. Davvero, non ho mai provato un rossetto che fosse così confortevole e leggero! La consistenza morbidissima ed il colore pieno, intenso, mi hanno definitivamente conquistato, facendomene innamorare come previsto. Non vedo come avrebbe potuto essere altrimenti, visto che l’amore é perfino nel nome!
P.S. Sapevo che sarebbe stato l’inizio di una nuova era. A dimostrazione di quanto avessi ragione il giorno dopo ne avevo già comprato un altro, “Spirit”, e sto già pensando al prossimo. Ah, l’amore!

I’ve been looking for years for the best “gel effect” nailpolish because I really like that gelly, glossy finish but I find the real gellac a bit too aggressive for my nails.
After many tries I finally found a dreamy product that has convinced me since the first time I saw it on my nails. I’m talking about the “Super Gel” line by Rimmel, a (really) long lasting nailpolish with a gorgeous gelly finish. The smooth formula usually looks good after just one coat but I prefer a more intense result so I usually wears two coats of it and I end my mani with the special top coat.
After my first purchase, a trendy bloody red, I’ve loved it so much that I’ve never stopped wearing it since then and I’ve already bought two other shades, a classy nude and a vibrant fucsia, but I’m pretty sure this collection will grow very fast!
Per anni ho cercato uno smalto dall’effetto gel che sembrasse vero gel, ma senza gli aspetti negativi che questo ha per le mie unghie delicate. Quello che volevo era soprattutto il finish super brillante, l’intensità del colore e la durata.
Ci sono voluti molti tentativi, e molto tempo, per trovare finalmente un prodotto che soddisfacesse tutte le mie richieste, ma ad oggi posso dire senza dubbi che la linea “Super Gel” di Rimmel valeva tutta l’attesa ed anche le prove non andate a buon fine. Inizialmente ero scettica, proprio perché la ricerca si era protratta a lungo, ma fin dalla prima volta che ho indossato questo smalto me ne sono innamorata perdutamente. La formula consente una buona coprenza anche dopo una sola passata, ma io che preferisco i risultati intensi ne faccio sempre due e concludo la manicure con l’irrinunciabile top coat della stessa linea, per un risultato brillante, glossato e davvero a lunga tenuta.
Il primo acquisto, un rosso scuro molto trendy, mi ha talmente conquistato che non ho più indossato altri smalti ed intanto ne ho comprati altri due della linea: un nude elegante ed un fucsia acceso. Ve li mostrerò tutti nelle prossime settimane e sono sicura che intanto la collezione crescerà ulteriormente!
